What do we do?

With 1,000 acres of history, walks, wellness, shopping, food and adventure, all in a beautiful setting just a few miles from Edinburgh, Dalkeith Country Park is enjoyed and valued by locals and visitors from afar. Whether in search of adventure, play, thrills, food, shopping or restoration, we have something for all.

The role?

Working as part of a team to create memorable experiences for our visitors, no two days are the same in this varied role. Working on a flexible casual basis, you could be:

  • Serving hot drinks, snacks and treats in the Coffee Cabin
  • Welcoming visitors to Fort Douglas Adventure Playground and processing admissions
  • Taking payment from drivers entering the car park
  • Sharing information about our attractions and answering visitor questions
  • Assisting with seasonal events and activities over summer, Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

Hours will vary depending on what’s happening, and will mostly be required over weekends and holiday periods, our busiest times at the Park.

About you?

  • Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic
  • Confident interacting with visitors of all ages
  • Calm and positive during busy periods
  • Reliable, flexible and keen to learn.

Previous customer service or hospitality experience would be beneficial, but it’s not essential as full training will be provided. If you enjoy working with people and want to be part of a fun and supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.

Why work for us?

We offer excellent benefits including gym and shopping discounts, and wellbeing related support and resources.

The closing date for applications is 23 September.
