A Staffordshire-based FE college is seeking an experienced and motivated GCSE Maths Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching on the GCSE Maths resit programme. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting learners who need to achieve a Grade 4 to progress into further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective GCSE Maths resit lessons to post-16 learners
- Plan, prepare, and deliver schemes of work aligned to the GCSE specification
- Track learner progress, complete assessments, and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Implement strategies to re-engage learners and close gaps in knowledge
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement within the maths team
- Support learners with attendance, confidence, and exam readiness
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and inclusive practice
Essential Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Mathematics
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths, ideally within FE or secondary education
- Ability to differentiate teaching for mixed-ability and resit learners
- Excellent communication, organisation, and learner-engagement skills
- Commitment to learner success and inclusive education
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Qualifications
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, DET, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, or equivalent.
- A Maths-related degree or strong numeracy background is essential.
