Why do we want you
Astutis, part of Wilmington Plc, is looking for an Account Manager who is passionate about building meaningful customer relationships and creating opportunities for growth. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys engaging with customers, understanding their challenges, and identifying solutions that deliver real value. With a proactive and consultative approach, you will be comfortable managing a portfolio of accounts while uncovering opportunities to expand our partnerships through cross-selling and up-selling activities. You will be motivated by achieving results, taking ownership of your pipeline, and developing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. We want someone who is naturally curious, commercially aware, and driven to exceed expectations. Equally important is your ability to collaborate with colleagues across sales, marketing, and operational teams to ensure customers receive an exceptional experience throughout their journey.
If you are organised, resilient, customer-focused, and excited by the opportunity to make a tangible impact on business growth, we would love to hear from you.
Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing revenue across a portfolio of approximately 150 existing customer accounts. Through effective relationship management, consultative sales conversations, and strategic account development, you will identify opportunities to increase account value through cross-selling and up-selling activities. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you will build long-term partnerships, maximise customer engagement, and contribute to the achievement of business growth objectives.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted annual sales revenue from an assigned account portfolio.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with existing customers and key stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across alternative buyers, regions, and divisions.
- Follow up on incoming enquiries and referrals from assigned accounts.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and commercial discussions.
- Produce compelling sales proposals and accurate quotations in line with agreed gross margin targets.
- Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline activity, and forecasting within Sage CRM.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, working closely with delivery teams to ensure successful contract fulfilment.
- Develop a strong understanding of products, services, and market sectors to provide trusted advice to customers.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Development Executives, and Marketing colleagues to maximise revenue opportunities.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, supporting the maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
- Undertake any additional duties as requested by the Sales Director.
Whats the Best Thing About This Role
The best thing about this role is the opportunity to grow and develop existing customer relationships while making a real impact on business success. You will manage a portfolio of established accounts, giving you the chance to build trusted partnerships, uncover new opportunities, and drive meaningful growth through consultative conversations. With a mix of relationship management, strategic account development, and commercial responsibility, no two days are the same. You will have the autonomy to shape your approach, work closely with a supportive team, and see the direct results of your efforts as you help customers and the business succeed together.
Whats the Most Challenging Thing About This Role
The biggest challenge in this role is balancing the management of a large portfolio of customer accounts while consistently identifying and converting new growth opportunities. Success requires strong prioritisation, proactive relationship building, and the ability to engage multiple stakeholders across different regions, divisions, and buyer groups. You will need to maintain momentum across your pipeline, uncover opportunities that customers may not initially recognise, and manage competing priorities, all while delivering an excellent customer experience and achieving revenue targets. For someone who enjoys building relationships, thinking commercially, and taking ownership of their success, it is a challenge that is both rewarding and motivating.
