Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit an Electrical Technician for their Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station in Rochester, Kent.
The vital Electrical Technician role comes with a basic salary up to £51,484 + Bonus + Overtime + skills shortage allowance + other excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Fault-finding and maintaining electrical assets including motors, switchgear, transformers, variable speed drives, HV plant, etc
  • Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
  • Undertaking/assisting in plant developments/ projects
  • Setting to work and supervising contractors
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the sites CMMS
  • Ensuring HSE compliance at all times

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Ideally apprentice trained with an NVQ Level 3 minimum qualification in an Electrical related discipline
  • A Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
  • 18th Edition Wiring regulations would be preferred

Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer role would suit someone who has:
  • Prior Electrical Engineering experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations, Paper Mills, Top Tier COMAH sites, Refineries, Petrochemicals, etc.
  • Experience working with High Voltage (HV) systems up to 400kV would be ideal.
  • Experience working with relevant electrical equipment such as motors, generators, switchgears, etc.
