Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join the EPC Contractor on the new build OCGT plant based in Lincolnshire on a 4 months contract. The Mechanical Fitter position comes with a flat hourly rate from £26.00 to £30.00 CIS.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

  • Carry out the installation, maintenance, repair and alignment of mechanical equipment and plant systems in accordance with engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Close out mechanical punch list items, ensuring all outstanding works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Perform equipment adjustments, repairs, overhauls and assembly activities on pumps, valves, rotating equipment, conveyors and associated mechanical systems.
  • Support commissioning, testing and fault-finding activities to ensure mechanical systems are fully operational and ready for handover.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and manufacturer documentation to support installation and maintenance works.
  • Demonstrate experience within Power Plant Repair & Maintenance environments (Coal, GT, CCGT) and/or large-scale new-build energy and industrial construction projects.

  • Location: Lincolnshire
  • Day rate: £26.00 to £30.00 per hour CIS
  • Immediate start date
  • Duration: 4 months
