Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global company, who specialise within the Energy from Waste industry, to recruit for a Shift Team Leader to join their new EfW Power Station in Grangemouth, Scotland. The vital Shift Team Leader role comes with a salary of c.£58,000 + £5,000 shift allowance + Bonus + Overtime + Private Medical + Pension + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • The day-to-day leadership of a team of Shift Operators / Shift Technicians who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant including high-pressure steam boilers, turbines, auxiliary plant, etc.
  • Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maximising waste input and energy production.
  • Chairing daily meetings after a shift handover to review health, safety & environmental issues, overnight activities and plans for the shift ahead.
  • Fulfilling the duty of HV Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching, and carrying out mechanical and electrical isolations.
