Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Engineer role:- Oversee mechanical maintenance of plant equipment
- Monitor rotating machinery and ensure safe operation
- Coordinate shutdown and maintenance planning across disciplines
- Maintain compliance with statutory inspections and documentation
- Manage safety systems, lifting gear, and pressure systems
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Lead mechanical personnel and manage related departmental duties
- Review and recommend spare parts holdings
- Set and manage the mechanical department budget
