Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join their Biomass Power Station in Chilton, Durham.
The vital EC&I Technician role comes with a salary of Β£51,000 + Bonus + Overtime + other excellent company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the EC&I Technician role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability including pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and control systems (DCS, PLCs) and electrical equipment.
- Assisting during major maintenance periods, shutdowns, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.
- Working alongside other technicians in the maintenance team in diagnosing faults and assisting/suggesting equipment upgrades
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
- Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
- Working within the company health, safety and environmental processes and procedures at all times. xgikmsk
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic/Control and Instrumentation Engineering
- A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge
The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who has:
- Prior experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, CHP, etc), Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Steel Production, etc.
- Having prior experience working with steam generation equipment will be highly advantageous.
- Excellent technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, Instrumentation and Electrical systems
- Experience working with HV equipment will be highly desirable
