Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Engineer role:
- Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will work as part of a specialist engineering team.
- Execute high-standard electrical installations of critical power products and UPS systems across a variety of client sites.
- Manage battery infrastructure projects, including the full installation and lifecycle replacement of battery systems.
- Conduct technical site surveys alongside the sales team to evaluate installation requirements and provide accurate cost estimates.
- Take ownership of site logistics by identifying and ordering the specific materials and components required for upcoming projects.
- Develop specialist technical expertise through training in the commissioning, diagnostic fault-finding, and repair of advanced UPS technology.
- Provide critical emergency support by joining the departmental on-call rota to resolve system failures and maintain 24/7 power continuity for clients.
- Collaborate across the business, working closely with both the office-based support team and fellow field engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Act as a brand ambassador, delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication while working in sensitive environments like hospitals, data centres, and government facilities.
Professional qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ Electrical & AM2 or HNC/HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2391-50 / 52 (Testing and Inspection).
- 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience (preferably with an NIC EIC registered company).
- Valid CSCS Card and a clean, full UK driving license.
- Computer Literacy (competent in Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Personal skills:
- Highly organised, dependable, and motivated to work in a fast-paced field service environment.
- A strong communicator capable of integrating easily with both engineering and office-based teams.
- Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to travel UK-wide, stay overnight when required, and work occasional weekends.
- Aptitude for power electronics and a keen interest in developing technical skills in UPS systems.
- Honest and professional, with the ability to manage client interactions effectively on-site.
