Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a leading fabrication company to recruit a Graduate Quality Engineer based in Oxfordshire to support their growing project book. Responsibilities and duties of the Graduate Quality Engineer role
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality procedures, inspection plans and project quality requirements
- Translate engineering drawings, specifications and standards into effective shop floor controls
- Verify product conformity through inspection and documentation review across fabrication and welding processes
- Identify, report and support investigation of non-conformances, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate quality documentation, including traceability records and certification packs
- Assist with internal, customer and third-party audits
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure compliance and resolve quality issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process control
Professional qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Welding, Aerospace or related engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Ability or willingness to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Structured, evidence-based problem-solving approach
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High level of personal ownership and integrity
- Eligibility to work in the UK and obtain security clearance if required
