Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a HVAC Commissioning Engineer to join the EPC Contractor on the new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire on a 5 months contract basis. The HVAC Commissioning Engineer position comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £550.00 Outside IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
- Coordinate and oversee the commissioning activities of multiple HVAC package vendors, ensuring all systems are tested, commissioned and handed over in accordance with project requirements and programme milestones.
- Manage interfaces between HVAC contractors, Building Management System (BMS) vendors, electrical commissioning teams and EPC project stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
- Supervise the commissioning of Air Handling Units (AHUs), ventilation systems, ductwork networks, chilled water and heating coils, dampers and associated HVAC equipment.
- Review and validate commissioning procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements and vendor documentation prior to execution.
- Monitor commissioning progress, identify technical issues and drive resolution through effective coordination with vendors, construction teams and engineering disciplines.
- Witness functional performance testing, integrated systems testing and pre-handover activities to ensure systems operate in accordance with design specifications.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems and site procedures.
- Produce commissioning reports, punch lists and handover documentation, supporting the successful transition from construction through commissioning and into operational readiness.
