Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy company to recruit a Lead EC&I Strategy Engineer to be based at its CCGT site in Kent or in North London. The Lead Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £75,000 + medical + bonus.

Responsibilities and duties of the Lead EC&I Strategy Engineer role:- Develop and implement governance, risk, and compliance strategies to ensure the safe and reliable operation of EC&I plant systems.
- Support the development and delivery of engineering business plans, managing operational and capital expenditure within your area of responsibility.
- Lead projects and planned outages from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery against safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.
- Develop contract strategies, manage supplier performance, and support technical and commercial negotiations.
- Create and optimise maintenance strategies to improve EC&I asset reliability, compliance, and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, audits, benchmarking, and the implementation of best practice.
- Lead technical reviews and plant modifications relating to EC&I systems, ensuring robust engineering governance and effective change management.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and engineering standards while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Develop technical specifications and support tender evaluations, contract placement, and contractor management for EC&I equipment and services.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners to maximise plant performance.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Controls & Instrumentation), or HNC/HND with significant relevant industry experience.
- Strong experience in EC&I systems within power generation, CCGT, heavy industry, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive environments.
- Good understanding of EC&I equipment, asset management, and maintenance best practices.
- Proven experience managing projects, outages, or maintenance activities in complex industrial environments.
- Experience in contract management, supplier performance, and commercial risk management.
- APMP qualification or equivalent project management experience is desirable.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification is desirable.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Confident communicator who builds effective working relationships across all levels.
- Starting salary of up to £75,000.
