Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. We're looking for a Solar Technician or O&M Technician to join their team to service and maintain their large scale solar assets around the North Yorkshire, Pennines & County Durham regions. Responsibilities and duties

  • Reporting to the Area Manager you will:
  • Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar assets
  • Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in Yeovil and the surrounding areas, perhaps travelling further on occasion for business need
  • Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
  • Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
  • Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
  • Gain Authorised Person status after receiving training
  • Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
  • Look for trends and use data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
  • Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
  • Occasional working away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this

Professional qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
  • 18th edition wiring regs
  • Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
  • A HSE qualification is desired
  • Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred
  • UK driving licence is essential

  • The Solar Technician role would suit someone who is:
  • Experienced liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
  • Experienced reading, writing and assessing RAMS
