Astute\’s Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company have a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and have a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. We\’re looking for a Solar Technician or O&M Technician to join their team to service and maintain their large scale solar assets around the Norfolk and Suffolk region.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Area Manager you will:
- Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar assets
- Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in Yeovil and the surrounding areas, perhaps travelling further on occasion for business need
- Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
- Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
- Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
- Gain Authorised Person status after received training
- Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
- Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
- Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
- Occasional working way from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
- 18th edition wiring regs
- Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
- A HSE qualification is desired
- Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred
- UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills
The Solar Technician role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
- Experienced reading, writing and assessing RAMS
- Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference

- A starting salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
