Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading renewable energy consultancy to recruit a Renewables Electrical Engineer to support on renewable infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe. The role comes with a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, alongside an excellent benefits package. Responsibilities and duties:
- Advise clients on grid connection requirements, associated costs, project timescales and technical considerations for renewable energy developments.
- Prepare and submit grid connection applications and modification requests for wind, solar PV and battery energy storage projects.
- Review and oversee the design, installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure grid connection infrastructure is delivered in accordance with Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and Transmission System Operator (TSO) requirements.
- Provide technical support to project delivery teams throughout the development and construction phases of renewable energy projects.
- Attend project meetings and carry out site inspections to monitor progress, assess quality and identify any corrective actions required.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of grid code compliance testing activities.
- Monitor developments in electrical engineering standards, grid regulations and renewable energy technologies.
- Coordinate and manage external consultants, contractors and specialist technical advisors where required.
Professional qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience within electrical engineering, power systems, utilities or renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, grid connection processes and project delivery.
- Knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical systems, protection schemes and network infrastructure.
- Experience supporting the design, construction or commissioning of renewable energy projects up to 132kV.
- Experience within the renewable energy sector would be highly advantageous.
