Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power protection solutions provider, known for its commitment to technical excellence and professional development, to recruit a Project Engineer to cover the South of England. This strategically important Project Engineer role comes with a competitive salary of up to £50,000, overtime, company vehicle, private healthcare, pension, and excellent holiday entitlement. Responsibilities and duties of the Project Engineer role
- Act as a technical advisor, providing guidance and support to customers on technical matters relating to project deliverables.
- Attend site surveys and project meetings with client representatives and specialist contractors, both on-site and remotely, to review and agree scope, methodologies, and ensure site readiness for UPS equipment integration, taking ownership of technical aspects as required.
- Produce detailed scope documents for specialist subcontractors to enable accurate pricing of site works, including (but not limited to) UPS installation, specialist logistics, and electrical installation where applicable.
- Manage, plan and take ownership of Single Phase UPS projects, including technical sign off, RAMS, product preparation, deliveries, site install, sub-contractor labour and commissioning.
- Support the project team with technical RAMS and technical sign off.
- Carry out project site surveys for new and replacement UPS projects as required.
Professional qualifications
- Previous field service experience in UPS, switchgear, IPS, SCADA, or related power/electrical sectors.
- Qualified Electrician/Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4 or above - HNC, HND, NVQ preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills in electrical/electronic engineering.
- Competence with electrical measuring equipment and tools.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.

- Highly customer-focused, with strong communication skills.
- Commercially aware and able to recognise opportunities.
- Willing to travel and stay away from home (typically one week per month).
- Honest, reliable, and able to work with integrity.
