Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading processing company to recruit an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to work at their site in Kings Lynn. The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician comes with a salary of up to £57,000 + benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician:

  • Deliver proactive and reactive electrical and instrumentation maintenance to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
  • Work collaboratively with shift and day-based teams to diagnose faults and complete timely repairs.
  • Install new equipment and carry out modifications to existing plant and systems.
  • Conduct maintenance testing and commissioning activities to prepare plant for operational readiness.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are accurately recorded in the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Safely isolate equipment and operate within permit-to-work systems to support maintenance activities.
  • Support site quality, environmental, and health & safety standards through safe working practices.
  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the APU.
  • Make informed engineering decisions to prioritise work and maintain plant availability.
  • Assess plant condition and determine when equipment should be taken offline to maintain safety and performance.

Professional qualifications:

  • ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering supported by a recognised apprenticeship.
  • IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely certification.
  • Strong technical experience within a large-scale, complex industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical power systems, motor control centres, drives, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Experience working within a lean, team-based operational environment using CMMS systems.

  • Team-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, able to prioritise tasks and make sound engineering judgments.
