Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading Operations & Maintenance provider to recruit an Emergency Preparedness Advisor for its fleet of COMAH and power facilities across the UK. This position is based in Stockton with UK wide travel required. The Emergency Preparedness Advisor role comes with a competitive salary, pension and benefits package. Responsibilities and duties of the Emergency Preparedness Advisor role
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans
- Coordinate crisis management processes and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory requirements
- Assess security risks and support the protection of critical infrastructure
- Deliver emergency response training to staff, contractors and stakeholders
- Support response activities during incidents to protect people and the environment
- Identify hazards and implement risk reduction strategies
- Liaise with emergency services and external partners
- Contribute to incident investigations and recovery planning
- Maintain accurate records and evaluate response effectiveness
Professional qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification in emergency planning, risk management or a related field
- Experience within a high hazard industry such as energy, oil and gas or petrochemicals
- Knowledge of COMAH regulations and their practical application
- Experience in crisis management within a complex organisation
- Understanding of emergency response structures such as incident command systems
- Experience in business continuity or emergency planning functions
- Ability to investigate incidents and identify root causes
