Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Nuclear Safety Case Professional role:
- Lead and deliver nuclear safety case projects across civil and defence nuclear programmes.
- Develop and execute strategies to address complex nuclear safety challenges.
- Undertake and lead safety assessments, risk assessments, hazard identification studies, fault schedules, and design basis analyses.
- Support probabilistic safety assessments and the development of safety functional requirements.
- Conduct periodic reviews of safety for nuclear facilities and associated infrastructure.
- Support the qualification and substantiation of systems against nuclear safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain safety cases for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
- Author, review, and verify safety-related documentation.
- Support the winning and delivery of new work across the nuclear sector.
- Ensure project delivery to agreed time, cost, and quality objectives.
Demonstrable 10+ years of civil nuclear or defence nuclear infrastructure experience. A Degree, Master's or PhD in a relevant STEM subject. The UK regulatory regime for nuclear safety cases and safety management. Nuclear safety case requirements, processes, terminology and documentation. Safety analysis and safety justification methods as they are used in the nuclear industry. Willingness to travel and spend time at client sites when required. Ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
