Responsibilities

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will:

• Lead and coordinate all mechanical outage activities to ensure work is safely and efficiently scoped, planned, and delivered.
• Support the planning and scheduling of outages in line with the annual operating plan and site agreements.
• Oversee contractors and internal teams during outage periods, ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Manage work orders, documentation, and technical reports, ensuring all outage-related information is accurately maintained in the CMMS.
• Conduct quality checks, technical inspections, and post-outage reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure that all statutory and inspection requirements, including PSSR activities, are completed within planned outage windows.
• Play an active role in maintaining site operational readiness, supporting zero harm initiatives, and contributing to the Duty Technician call-out rota.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in a 24/7 industrial or power generation environment.
• Strong understanding of maintenance management systems, outage coordination, and contractor supervision.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, safety procedures, and mechanical best practice.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, manage budgets, and deliver work within agreed timescales.
