Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Operator role Reporting to the
Plant Manager
you will: Support the safe, efficient daily operation of an anaerobic digestion plant Monitor and optimise performance via the control system Manage material intake and feeding in line with operational plans Record and report plant data and performance metrics Complete routine inspections, checks and basic first-line maintenance Identify and escalate faults or process issues Conduct routine sampling of the organic material and process monitoring Operate the weighbridge and maintain accurate documentation Maintain site security, housekeeping and compliance with permits and procedures Assist with maintenance activities and participate in the on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Experience working in an agricultural, process-driven, industrial or energy environment Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental compliance Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to undertake first-line maintenance IT literacy and confidence working with plant control or monitoring systems A full UK driving licence.

role would suit someone who is: Proactive and safety-conscious. Comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment. Methodical with strong attention to detail. Flexible and willing to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. A strong team player with good communication skills.
