Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a high-integrity health and nuclear manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Control and Assurance Inspector for its Abingdon site. This strategically important Quality Inspector role comes with a salary of up to 40,000 alongside a competitive benefits package and flexible working hours. Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of CMM operations (Faro Arm with PolyWorks), including inspection programming and measurement strategy development.
  • Interpret and manipulate 3D CAD data to support dimensional inspection and verification.
  • Act as the business's ASME Certified Individual, performing final verification of products manufactured under ASME Code UM stamps prior to delivery (formal designation subject to passing ASME competency examination).
  • Carry out goods‐in, visual, and mechanical inspections using a wide range of manual metrology equipment.
  • Provide clear technical feedback where drawing interpretation or customer requirements present risk.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of internal, supplier, and customer non‐conformances (NCRs).
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure quality is embedded from concept through manufacture.
  • Assist Engineering and Production in maintaining full product traceability throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Significant experience in Quality / Inspection within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of CMM inspection, ideally Faro Arms and PolyWorks.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, ISIRs and FAIRs.
  • Hands‐on metrology experience using verniers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and pressure equipment regulations (PED / AD2000).

Desirable

  • Experience in nuclear or similarly regulated industries.
  • Understanding of welding processes (MIG/TIG) and NDT techniques.
  • Engineering qualification.
