Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading industrial processing business to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for its site in Chipping Campden. The role comes with a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 DOE, a £460 per week standby allowance (1 week in 4), and the opportunity to join a growing engineering team responsible for maintaining highly automated plant equipment. Responsibilities and duties:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs across a range of industrial plant and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring maximum equipment uptime.
- Fault-find and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, instrumentation, control systems and associated automation equipment.
- Maintain and repair three-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, switchgear, relays and control panels.
- Repair and overhaul mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and valves.
- Complete maintenance records accurately using the site's CMMS system.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, following Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and company health & safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 week in every 4), responding to site breakdowns when required.
Professional qualifications:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Strong multi-skilled maintenance experience with both mechanical and electrical competency.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, processing, FMCG, automated warehousing or heavy industrial environments.
- BS2391 Inspection & Testing and COMPEX qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
