Astute's Renewables team is partnering with one of the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers to recruit a Local Operations Manager to support teams in the Oola region, Ireland. The Local Operations Manager role comes with a competitive salary plus bonus and pension scheme and great career progression opportunities. Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for QHSE within the service area, ensuring full compliance with internal standards and external regulations, and acting as a visible role model for safety and quality.
- Full responsibility for operational performance, ensuring optimal availability and reliability of wind turbine generators across the service area.
- Ownership of financial and commercial performance, including budget planning, cost control, and delivery against agreed targets.
- Leadership of site teams, including delegation to team leads, performance management, and ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to required standards.
- Recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of service employees, including identification of training needs and succession planning to build a high-performing team.
- Development and implementation of effective staffing and resource plans, including inventory and stock management.
- Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on KPIs and operational data to drive continuous improvement, address performance gaps, and share best practice.
- Oversight of site operations including safety audits, facilities management, large-scale operations (e.g. major component exchanges), and improvement initiatives.
- Management of customer operational topics, ensuring clear, collaborative communication and strong working relationships with stakeholders and project teams.
- Driving efficiency, competitiveness, and business growth initiatives, including service handovers from build to operations and planning for new or relocated service points.
Professional qualifications
- Proven leadership experience within the wind industry or a comparable technical sector.
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering would be preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of commercial and financial controls, with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and overall financial performance.
- Demonstrated experience managing remote, field-based teams.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to oversee the full spectrum of team performance, development, and engagement.
- Must hold Driving Licence.
