Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a UK-based renewable energy company specialising in the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar projects, to recruit a Construction Project Planner. The Construction Project Planner role comes with a competitive salary depending on experience, plus an excellent benefits package. Responsibilities and Duties
- Reporting to the Construction Director, you will:
- Develop fully integrated tender programmes to support EPC bids using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Translate tender schedules into compliant contract programmes in line with FIDIC or other standard contract forms.
- Produce and maintain detailed construction programmes covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct critical path analysis, manage interfaces, and incorporate subcontractor schedules.
- Monitor progress in collaboration with site teams, issuing monthly updates and client reports including earned value analysis and key deviations.
- Record and analyse delay events, supporting the preparation of Extension of Time (EoT) claims and disruption analyses.
- Develop and maintain labour and equipment resource schedules, integrating procurement plans and generating cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure programme alignment.
- Lead planning workshops, contributing to weekly and monthly progress meetings with internal teams and clients.
- Maintain baseline schedules, revision logs, and risk‑adjusted programmes, ensuring compliance with company controls and industry standards.
Professional Qualifications
- Previous experience in a scheduling or project planning role, ideally within engineering, construction, or renewable energy.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with project controls, reporting, and risk management processes.
- Understanding of large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects is highly desirable.
