Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy company in the UK to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join its portfolio team, based at their CCGT plant in North Lincolnshire, with occasional travel to other assets required. The Mechanical Engineer role comes with a starting salary of up to £60,000 + benefits including bonus and medical insurance.

Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Engineer roleReporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer you will:
- Support delivery of large-scale engineering projects across mechanical, pressure systems, and rotating plant assets within the portfolio.
- Assist in planned and reactive maintenance activities to support continuous plant operation.
- Ensure assets comply with regulatory, industry, and company standards, including relevant safety and engineering requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient generation through engineering input and support.
- Support the delivery of major maintenance projects, upgrades, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical advice and engineering support to site maintenance teams.
- Assist in the implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support work planning and work control processes to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
- Contribute to asset performance improvements through collaboration with engineering and operational teams.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Educated to HNC level minimum in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (degree desirable).
- Experience working with large rotating plant and/or HRSG pressure systems within industrial or power generation environments.
- Understanding of relevant legislation including health, safety, environmental, and engineering compliance requirements.
- Experience with maintenance planning, work control processes, and engineering systems (e.g. Maximo or similar CMMS).
- Working knowledge of engineering standards, generation safety rules, and contract/budget awareness.
- Able to travel occasionally to other assets as required.
