Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading utility-scale renewable energy business to recruit an HV Project Manager (HV SAP) for its hybrid UK-based operations, with office attendance required twice per month in Berkshire. The HV Project Manager (HV SAP) role comes with a salary up to £60k plus additional on-call remuneration, hybrid working, ongoing training and development, and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities and duties of the HV Project Manager (HV SAP) role:

  • Manage HV remedial works and fault rectification across a nationwide portfolio of renewable energy assets.
  • Act as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), controlling and carrying out HV switching operations on solar and battery energy storage sites.
  • Review and approve switching schedules, permits and RAMS.
  • Manage and coordinate HV subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Mentor and support the development of internal HV Authorised Persons.
  • Work closely with portfolio management teams to coordinate remedial works and project delivery.
  • Develop and implement HV best practice, processes and continual improvements.
  • Carry out quality inspections, audits and safety reviews.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and clients.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours HV Control Engineer rota (1 week in 3), with additional remuneration.

Professional qualifications:

  • Current HV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation would be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience working on high-voltage electrical networks.
  • Strong HV background (HV AP/SAP).
  • Experience managing HV contractors and remedial projects.
  • Sound knowledge of Distribution Safety Rules (DSRs), ESQCR and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and MS Project.
