Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants, to recruit a Stores Controller for their site in Buckie, Scotland and support across additional sites within their portfolio when needed. The Stores Controller role comes with a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a chance to join a leading business within the renewable energy sector. Responsibilities and duties of the Stores Controller role:
- Control all outgoing items and ensuring these are recorded against CMMS movements / PPMs (Planned Preventive Maintenance).
- Recording deliveries through the ready-to-receipt system and ensuring integration with relevant systems.
- Conducting daily stock checks of selected areas using CMMS inventory reports.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic full stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain and organise critical spare parts inventory ensuring key equipment spares are available to support operational uptime.
- Raising stock replenishment requests when minimum levels are reached.
- Track outstanding orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical parts.
- Implement Kanban replenishment systems for commonly used consumables and fast-moving parts to ensure continuous availability while minimising excess stock.
- Controlling LOLER equipment, ensuring sign-out / sign-in procedures are adhered to.
- Responsible for COSHH materials within the stores area, ensuring safe storage and compliance with standards.
- Maintain stores organisation using 5S principles, ensuring clear labelling, location control and efficient retrieval of materials.
- Coordinate movement of parts between Northern sites to optimise availability and reduce duplicate stock holdings.
- Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- COSHH awareness is desired.
- IOSH is desired.
- Counterbalance or reach truck is desired.
Personal skills:
- Strong computer and Microsoft skills.
- Experience in stores/warehouse/inventory role.
- Understanding of inventory control concepts (Reorder points, safe stock levels).
- Strong Housekeeping standards.
- Strong Health and Safety awareness.
- Able to identify engineering spare parts and understand their purpose.
- Experience of CMMS system.
