Overview
Astute’s Renewables Team is exclusively partnering with a leading business in the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain a network of EV chargers along with specific EV forecourts too. Their power comes from renewable energy sources too, so this is a chance to join the green revolution and contribute to a greener world here in the UK.
The Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £41,000, with a company electric van plus excellent benefits. The role is regional—think Cambridge, up to Norwich and down to Thurrock.

Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Area Manager you will undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements
- Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
- Carry out site surveys requests as required
- Compile accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
- Keep accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, high voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
- Ensure that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
- Comply with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping
- Comply with all aspects of the company’s ISO standards: Quality management – ISO 9001 / Environmental – ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme
- Participating in an on-call rota if required
- Travelling throughout your region and perhaps, on the odd occasion, further to provide holiday or sickness cover
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- At least a level 2 electrical installation qualification
- Test and inspection certified, C&G 2391
- UK driving licence with, ideally, a clean licence
- Experience servicing and maintaining EV chargers is hugely beneficial
- Good fault-finding experience/knowledge
