Engineer - Project Engineering

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a specialist logistics and marine transport company, widely recognized for its heavy-lift, project cargo, and offshore services to recruit a Project Engineer for their Portishead site.
The Project Engineer role comes with a salary between £50,000 – £65,000 as well as hybrid working arrangements and a great package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Project Engineer role

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer you will:

• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and site operations teams.
• Apply technical expertise to design innovative engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects.
• Conduct site assessments and provide conceptual plans for lifting operations.
• Prepare and review both existing and updated engineering documentation.
• Create detailed drawings, calculations, visualisations, operation manuals, risk assessments, and other essential project documents.
• Oversee project execution to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
• Maintain rigorous document quality and control throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Participate in site visits to gather client requirements and be present during operations to lead, support, and motivate the team.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Bachelor's in engineering
• CSCS Appointed Person
• IOSH Managing Safely desirable
• CCNSG Safety Passport desirable
• Experience managing large scale construction projects
• Experience with lifting operations using mobile cranes, tower crane and crawler cranes
