Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a renewable energy company to recruit a Wind Turbine Service Technician for its site in East Scotland on a 10-month fixed-term contract, with potential future opportunities available. The Wind Turbine Service Technician role comes with a salary up to £45k plus overtime opportunities, and an on-call allowance. Responsibilities and duties of the Wind Turbine Service Technician role

  • Carry out planned maintenance and servicing on Siemens 2.3 and Nordex N80 wind turbines.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Complete maintenance paperwork and service records accurately.
  • Support the wider team to improve turbine performance and reliability.
  • Take part in the on-call rota for breakdown response, including weekends and out-of-hours work.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules.
  • Maintain PPE, tools, and company vehicles to a high standard.
  • Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements when required.
  • Communicate effectively with the control room and site management teams.

Professional qualifications

  • Full GWO certificates and valid medical.
  • Experience working in mechanical or electrical maintenance within heavy industry or renewables.
  • Wind turbine experience on Siemens and/or Nordex turbines is essential.
  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
  • Previous AT or CT experience would be an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
