Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a renewable energy company to recruit a Wind Turbine Service Technician for its site in East Scotland on a 10-month fixed-term contract, with potential future opportunities available. The Wind Turbine Service Technician role comes with a salary up to £45k plus overtime opportunities, and an on-call allowance. Responsibilities and duties of the Wind Turbine Service Technician role
- Carry out planned maintenance and servicing on Siemens 2.3 and Nordex N80 wind turbines.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Complete maintenance paperwork and service records accurately.
- Support the wider team to improve turbine performance and reliability.
- Take part in the on-call rota for breakdown response, including weekends and out-of-hours work.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site rules.
- Maintain PPE, tools, and company vehicles to a high standard.
- Assist with Risk Assessments and Method Statements when required.
- Communicate effectively with the control room and site management teams.
Professional qualifications
- Full GWO certificates and valid medical.
- Experience working in mechanical or electrical maintenance within heavy industry or renewables.
- Wind turbine experience on Siemens and/or Nordex turbines is essential.
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
- Previous AT or CT experience would be an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.

- Confident fault finding and problem solving.
- Flexible and willing to support the team when needed.
