Responsibilities and duties:
- Ensure the best performance of large‑scale solar assets.
- Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in Chichester and the surrounding areas, perhaps travelling further on occasion for business need.
- Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties.
- Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues.
- Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets.
- Gain Authorised Person status after received training.
- Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems.
- Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result.
- Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV.
- Occasional working away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs.
Professional qualifications:
- Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum.
- 18th edition wiring regulations.
- Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent.
- A HSE qualification is desired.
- Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred.
- UK driving licence is essential.
Personal skills:
- Flexible with location and in travelling outside of your patch on occasion.
- Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting.
- Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial.
- Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference.
Salary and benefits of the Solar Technician role:
- A starting salary up to €50,000 depending on experience.
