Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Generation company to recruit a Multi-Skilled Technician to work at its Biomass plant in Chester. The Multi-Skilled Technician comes with a starting salary of up to £50,000 plus benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Multi-Skilled Technician:
- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical plant and equipment across the power station.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and complete functional testing on a range of power plant systems.
- Support maintenance activities outside of your core discipline when required.
- Assist during planned outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities.
- Inspect and maintain plant assets to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work.
- Update maintenance records and work orders accurately using the CMMS.
- Identify reliability issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance colleagues to maximise plant availability and performance.
- Actively support site safety culture, including hazard reporting and participation in investigations.
Professional qualifications:
- Level 3 qualified in relevant engineering qualification with apprenticeship completed.
- An HNC or higher engineering qualification (desirable).
- At least 3 years' maintenance experience in a heavy process or industrial environment.
- An IOSH or Health & Safety qualification (desirable).
Personal skills:
- Proactive and adaptable, with a positive attitude toward change and continuous improvement.
- Confident decision-maker with strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator and team player, able to influence, collaborate, and lead across multidisciplinary teams.
