Astute's Power team is partnered with a market-leading energy company for the recruitment of an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Cardiff, South Wales. The vital EC&I Engineer role comes with a salary of up to c.£65,000, Bonus, Overtime, Pension, and benefits.

Responsibilities and dutiesReporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:
- The day-to-day management of short-term and long-term goals which includes preventative maintenance activities to ensure maximum plant availability. This includes leading the team of EC&I Technicians to ensure these are carried out.
- Assist in the delivery of the overall maintenance & engineering strategy, implementing new maintenance techniques & approaches and management of the EC&I budget.
- Work alongside the Mechanical and Project Engineers to ensure work is appropriately allocated and delivered in addition to developing the sites CMMS.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets for the EC&I Department.
- Act as the EC&I lead during planned outages, manage specialist contractors on site.
- Perform the role of Electrical Senior Authorised Person under the company's safety rules.
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company safety policies, safety rules and relevant H&S legislation.
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager as and when required.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally a HNC, or similar, in a relevant engineering subject such as Electrical/Electronics/Measurement and Control Engineering.
- HV SAP/AP Experience.
- IOSH/NEBOSH will be advantageous.
The EC&I Engineer role would suit someone who has:
- Proven supervisory / management experience in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Generation (Energy from Waste, Biomass, Coal, CCGT, CHP, etc), Paper Mills, COMAH sites, Steelworks, Refineries, etc.
- Experience in maintaining and working on a variety of instrumentation, electrical and control system equipment (SCADA, PLC, temperature, level, pressure, flow, switch gear, motors, variable speed drives, transformers etc).
- Contract management experience.
A basic salary of up to c.£65,000, Bonus, Overtime, and other excellent company benefits.
