Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a consultancy for the design and build of Nuclear EC & I Systems to recruit a Project Manager on a permanent basis on their site in Bridgwater, local to Hinkley Point C. This role is suited to a Project Manager with early-career experience in an engineering environment who is ready to take greater ownership and responsibility in a supportive professional environment. Responsibilities and duties of the Project Manager role:

  • Take full accountability for the successful end-to-end delivery of projects, defining scope, execution strategies, and delivery plans.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams while acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, costs, variations, and change control, supporting the development of strong commercial awareness.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and ISO standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project quality documentation and oversee project closure and handover processes.

Professional and Personal skills:

  • The Project Manager role would suit someone who has:
  • HNC/HND or degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a technically relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience delivering projects in an engineering or technical environment, including responsibility for cost, schedule, and client communication.
  • Project Management qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in regulated industries is beneficial but not required; previous nuclear experience is not necessary as training and support will be provided.

Salary and benefits of the Project Manager role:

  • £35,000-40,000
  • Optional 4- or 5-day working week. Same hours worked per week but spread over either Monday -Thursday or Monday to Friday.
  • 25 days annual leave plus Public Holidays
  • 8% company pension contribution
