Astute People are looking for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance Department of one of the UK's most efficient CCGT Power Stations, located in Devon. This plant is part of a fleet producing 22GW of Heat & Power across Europe and has four assets in the United Kingdom. This role is available on a two-year Fixed-Term supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the EC&I equipment.

Responsibilities and duties:As the Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to ensure efficient operation of the site and to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters as well as DCS and PLC control systems. Electrical maintenance work on motors, switchgear, generators etc would also be required.
- Programming the site's DCS/PLC equipment.
- Supervising and directing contractors.
- Maintaining the continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS).
- Assisting in plant shutdowns and outages.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health and safety policies and procedures.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally apprenticeship trained at Level 3 in a relevant Electrical, Controls (Automation) or Instrumentation field.
- Qualified with a HNC, ONC or HND in a relevant Engineering field is desirable.
- 18th Edition / COMPEX qualified is also highly desirable.
The Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician role would suit someone who:
- Is experienced in carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to ensure efficient operation of the site and to maximise plant availability.
- Ensures all work is carried out in line with company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Is a quick thinker with strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability, especially during plant issues or failures.
Starting salary of up to £50,000. Benefits package includes a 10% bonus, Flex Payment for Scheduled Overtime, and the opportunity to join a thermal power station.
