Responsibilities and duties of the UPS Service Engineer role

  • Start up, maintain, and carry out emergency repairs on Batteries, Power distribution equipment, and Site monitoring systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults using clients' technical drawings when necessary.
  • Provide technical recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  • Produce and follow site-specific risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ensure continuous communication with the service direction team.
  • Accurately complete all company and customer paperwork and administration.
  • Work independently and manage your own schedule and workload.

Professional qualifications

  • Previous field service experience in UPS, switchgear, IPS, SCADA, or related power/electrical sectors.
  • Qualified Electrician/Electrical Engineer (Level 3/4 or above - HNC, HND, NVQ preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Competence with electrical measuring equipment and tools.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
