Astute’s Renewables team is proud to partner with a well‑established business within the Anaerobic Digestion sector. They are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join them at their site in the Scunthorpe area. The Biogas Plant Operator will be working a 4 on 4 off day shift pattern and be part of an on‑call rota once trained. The Biogas Plant Operator role comes with a competitive salary, depending on experience and excellent company benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Biogas Plant Operator role

  • Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:
  • Carry out day to day operations of the renewable energy process plant
  • Use SCADA control systems to monitor the process (training provided)
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks such as changing and isolating a pump, greasing, oil and filter changes
  • Support the biologist with carrying out analysis checks (training provided)
  • Feed fuel into the process using mobile plant such as telehandlers
  • Respond to machine and systems failures
  • Ensure adherence with health & safety at all times
  • Be part of an on‑call rota (once trained)
  • Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

  • A relevant Engineering qualification/certificate would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Telehandler or other plant tickets such as loading shovel, tractor, etc., but not essential.
  • A full UK Driving Licence (essential)
