Astute's Renewable Energy team is partnering with a UK leading business in anaerobic digestion that provides cost-effective, low carbon, food and organic waste management. We are looking to recruit an Energy Manager to be located at their head office in Bedfordshire. The strategically important Energy Manager role comes with a salary of up to £40,000, life assurance, employer pension and additional benefits package. Responsibilities and duties of the Energy Manager role
- Reporting to the Head of Sustainability & Energy you will:
- Manage day to day energy sales in line with the company's hedging strategy
- Be the first point of contact for all Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Gas Purchase Agreement (GPA) and Guarantee of Origin (GoO) enquiries
- Manage all PPA's and GPA's in conjunction with the Head of Sustainability & Energy & CFO
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all key external stakeholders
- Secure and manage a variety of business contracts, assisting the HoS&E with maintaining the CLM system.
- Deliver data insights and management information on energy markets, certificate markets and additional revenue optimisation
- Liaising with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue flows
- Communicate effectively with stakeholder and enforce strong process governance.

Professional qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Energy Management, Engineering, Finance or Environmental Science
Personal skills
- The Energy Manager role would suit someone who has:
- Understanding of contractual terms and adhering to contractual obligations.
- Experience supporting contract negotiation or supplier performance management.
- Commercial awareness to identify revenue risks and opportunities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, forecasting, validation, model building).
- High numerical accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to interpret a variety of different types of datasets and provide insights and recommendations
- Highly organised with strong documentation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines across contracts, forecasting, certificates, and finance tasks.
- Comfortable owning compliance, KPIs, and audit-ready records.
