Astute Recruitment are delighted to be working with a prestigious organisation in South Derbyshire to recruit a Finance Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance and accounting, gaining hands-on experience within a supportive finance team whilst studying towards an AAT qualification. Full training will be provided, alongside one paid day per week dedicated to college or study.
The Role Will Involve:
- Processing purchase invoices and preparing payments
- Posting and allocating cash receipts
- Assisting with bank and ledger reconciliations
- Supporting the billing process for fees and other charges
- Assisting with credit control and maintaining customer accounts
- Providing support across both the purchase and sales ledger
- Assisting with management accounts and year-end audit preparation
- Learning all aspects of the finance function whilst completing an AAT qualification
The Ideal Candidate:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance and accountancy
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Confident communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a small, supportive team
- Previous office or finance experience would be advantageous but is not essential

- Fully office-based in South Derbyshire
- Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (40 hours per week)
- Salary: £16,640 per annum (Apprenticeship Salary)
