Astute Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join a well-established business based in Pinxton, Nottinghamshire. This is a hands-on payroll role and looking for someone who is confident managing end-to-end payroll and can take ownership of the process.
The role: You’ll be responsible for processing payroll from start to finish, including:
- Payroll for around 300+ employees
- Checking time and attendance data and agency timesheets
- Identifying and correcting discrepancies, particularly where employees have worked unusual shifts
- Processing SSP, maternity and paternity
- Holiday calculations and records
- Attachments of earnings
- Dealing with payroll queries
- Ensuring payroll is accurate and processed on time
About you: You’ll need at least 3 years’ solid payroll experience, with strong end-to-end payroll knowledge. We’re looking for someone who is confident managing payroll from start to finish and can work independently, with a real eye for detail. You’ll need to be comfortable checking figures, spotting discrepancies and investigating anything that doesn’t look right.
You should have experience with:
- Weekly payroll
- Processing SSP, maternity and paternity
- Holiday calculations and records
- Attachments of earnings
- Payroll queries
- Time and attendance systems and timesheets
- Checking and correcting payroll discrepancies
- Sage Payroll experience is essential, and you’ll need to be confident taking ownership of the payroll process and ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time
