  • Maintain accurate nominal ledger coding and process journal entries.

  • Complete bank, card and relevant control account reconciliations.

  • Process sales and purchase invoices, allocate customer receipts and record supplier payments.

  • Check supplier invoices, pricing discrepancies, credit notes and additional charges.

  • Support VAT returns, including appropriate VAT treatments and domestic reverse-charge requirements.

  • Monitor aged debt, issue customer statements and chase overdue payments.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and assist with payment‑run preparation.

  • Prepare financial information, including profit and loss figures, aged balances, cash‑flow information and management reports.

  • Support payroll administration, staff expenses and year‑end preparation where required.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, reporting and financial controls.

About you:

  • Confident Microsoft Excel skills and good general IT ability.

  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.

Experience with payroll, pensions, management reporting, year‑end preparation or improving financial processes would be advantageous.
