Accounts Assistant

Astute Recruitment are proud to be working with a Derby-based client seeking someone assured in their abilities to manage day-to-day transactional finance processes and play a central role in maintaining financial accuracy and operational flow.\\n\\nYou’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team in a company that values initiative, ownership, and continuous improvement.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Raise and send purchase orders\\n\\n * Liaise with and chase suppliers where needed\\n\\n * Process invoices, book in goods received, match paperwork, and pass for payment\\n\\n * Prepare and process payment runs\\n\\n * Process sales orders and raise sales invoices as part of the dispatch process\\n\\n * Arrange shipping and logistics\\n\\n * Send statements to customers\\n\\n * Post daily bank transactions\\n\\n * Reconcile bank accounts weekly\\n\\nIdeal Candidate Profile\\n\\n * Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role\\n\\n * Experience managing purchase and sales ledger end-to-end\\n\\n * Payroll and pension processing knowledge advantageous\\n\\n * Comfortable using a variety of accounting software packages\\n\\n * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office\\n\\n * Strong communicator with a confident and personable manner\\n\\n * High attention to detail and strong organisational skills\\n\\n * Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude\\n\\n * Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines\\n\\n * Keen to contribute to process improvement\\n\\nSalary & Benefits\\n\\n * Salary up to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)\\n\\n * 36.25 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm with a 45-minute lunch break)\\n\\n * 25.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays\\n\\n * 5% employer contribution / 2.4% employee\\n\\n * Access to Paycare Level 1 scheme (employer-paid; Benefit in Kind)\\n\\n * Ample on-site parking and excellent public transport links
