Location: DE55 (Hybrid – up to 2 days WFH after probation)

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

This role is crucial to the continued success of the department. The successful candidate will be an experienced, confident individual who thrives in a busy environment and can manage a demanding customer base with professionalism and assertiveness.

While experience within the metal industry is not essential, it is highly desirable and would give candidates a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer accounts with professionalism, urgency, and a proactive approach
  • Handle inbound enquiries, quotations, and orders
  • Make outbound calls to customers to discuss order updates, product availability, and pricing
  • Liaise daily with internal teams including Production, Quality, and Internal Sales to manage expectations and meet customer deadlines
  • Confidently push back on unrealistic customer demands while maintaining strong working relationships
  • Stay focused and composed in a team environment that can, at times, be emotionally charged
  • Support junior members of the team with a calm, level-headed presence

Who Were Looking For:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills confident on the phone and in person
  • Resilient, composed, and no-nonsense when dealing with pressure or drama
  • Experience in the metal industry or with manufacturing customers is a major plus
  • Previous experience in internal sales, account management, or customer service within a B2B environment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent using CRM systems, order processing tools, and Microsoft Office

Working Pattern:

  • Full-time, office-based for the first 6 months (or until fully trained and confident in the role)
  • Hybrid working available thereafter – 2 days from home, 3 days in office
  • Flexible start and finish times from 07:30 am – 15:30 pm // 09:30 am – 18:30 pm
