This role is crucial to the continued success of the department. The successful candidate will be an experienced, confident individual who thrives in a busy environment and can manage a demanding customer base with professionalism and assertiveness.
While experience within the metal industry is not essential, it is highly desirable and would give candidates a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer accounts with professionalism, urgency, and a proactive approach
- Handle inbound enquiries, quotations, and orders
- Make outbound calls to customers to discuss order updates, product availability, and pricing
- Liaise daily with internal teams including Production, Quality, and Internal Sales to manage expectations and meet customer deadlines
- Confidently push back on unrealistic customer demands while maintaining strong working relationships
- Stay focused and composed in a team environment that can, at times, be emotionally charged
- Support junior members of the team with a calm, level-headed presence
Who Were Looking For:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills confident on the phone and in person
- Resilient, composed, and no-nonsense when dealing with pressure or drama
- Experience in the metal industry or with manufacturing customers is a major plus
- Previous experience in internal sales, account management, or customer service within a B2B environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Competent using CRM systems, order processing tools, and Microsoft Office
Working Pattern:
- Full-time, office-based for the first 6 months (or until fully trained and confident in the role)
- Hybrid working available thereafter – 2 days from home, 3 days in office
- Flexible start and finish times from 07:30 am – 15:30 pm // 09:30 am – 18:30 pm
