Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established organisation in South Derbyshire to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent. This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to gain broad, hands-on finance experience in a busy environment.
The Role Will Involve:
- Daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Monitoring and reporting on cashflow and daily cash position
- Processing and allocating incoming receipts
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting cashflow forecasting
- Assisting with month-end and balance sheet reconciliations
- Handling billing and payment queries
- Supporting wider finance tasks including AP
- Contributing to process improvements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a finance or accounts role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
- A team player with a desire to learn and develop
- Confident communicator
- Good Excel skills (pivot tables and formulas beneficial)
