Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility scale solar O&M company to recruit a Field Service Engineer for its sites in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. This role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, a company van, and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world. Responsibilities and duties

  • Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements.
  • Learning around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures.
  • Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out site surveys requests as required.
  • Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner.
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit.
  • Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity.
  • Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy.

Professional qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent.
  • C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection.
  • 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations.
  • Ideally at least a year's experience from within maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or even domestic capacity.
  • Full UK licence.

Personal skills

  • Keen to get into renewables.
  • A real passion for renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage etc.
  • Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role.

  • Salary of between £30,000 to £36,000 depending on experience.
  • Overtime and on-call weekends on rota.
