Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading commercial and industrial renewable energy provider, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of solar PV and clean energy solutions for businesses across Ireland, to recruit a Solar O&M Engineer to monitor and maintain multiple sites. The Solar O&M Engineer role comes with a salary up to €60,000, vehicle and excellent package including training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties of the Solar O&M Engineer role:
  • Monitor the performance of operational solar PV sites using remote monitoring and SCADA systems.
  • Review plant data, identify underperformance and investigate technical faults to maximise system availability.
  • Support the day-to-day technical management of a portfolio of operational renewable energy assets.
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance activities across multiple sites.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis, repairs and component replacements where required.
  • Assist with inverter, DC cabling and electrical system maintenance to ensure optimum plant performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and spare parts inventories.
  • Produce performance and maintenance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and quality standards.
  • Travel to sites across Ireland as required, including occasional overnight stays.
Professional qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least two years' experience within the solar PV or renewable energy sector.
  • Understanding of power system protection and electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single line diagrams and technical schematics.
  • Experience maintaining LV electrical systems, DC cabling and medium voltage infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
Personal skills:
  • Analytical with strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple maintenance activities.
  • Flexible to travel regularly to operational sites.
