Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a UK based renewable energy company who specialises in the development, construction and operation of both Commercial and utility scale solar projects, to recruit a Solar Design Engineer focus on designing systems from commercial scale through to large utility scale solar farms. The Solar Design Engineer role comes with a starting salary up to £55k depending on experience plus benefits package including car allowance. Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Design Engineer role:
- Develop AC electrical designs for projects ranging from hundreds of kWs to MWs, ensuring compliance with client, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare G99 applications and liaise with DNOs to secure connection agreements.
- Produce detailed electrical schematics, layout drawings, and documentation for planning, construction, and O&M manuals using AutoCAD LT.
- Conduct site surveys and develop electrical system designs based on survey findings.
- Collaborate with EPC teams, suppliers, clients, and external consultants to ensure timely, high-quality design submissions and project delivery.
- Undertake protection studies.
