Astute's Power Team is working alongside a well-established UK standby power specialist that install and maintaining critical power systems, to recruit a UPS Engineer for a field-based role covering London region.

The UPS Engineer position comes with a salary of £45,000-£50,000, paid overtime, company vehicle, bonus scheme, and strong long-term development opportunities within a financially stable, family-run organisation.

Responsibilities and duties of the UPS Engineer role

Reporting to the Manager you will:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and inspecting UPS systems across a wide power range to ensure reliable operation of critical power infrastructure
  • Diagnosing faults and providing effective on-site repair solutions during both planned and reactive maintenance visits
  • Carrying out remedial works including battery replacements, component changes, and minor to major system overhauls
  • Acting as a first-response engineer for breakdowns, restoring systems to operational status in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting a mix of scheduled maintenance, corrective works, and reactive callouts, including participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota
  • Completing clear and accurate service reports, documenting findings, actions taken, and recommendations
  • Working closely with internal teams and customers to deliver a high standard of service and minimise system downtime
  • Maintaining excellent health & safety, housekeeping, and professional standards while representing the business on customer sites
  • Travelling primarily within an assigned region, with occasional wider UK travel as required

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience as a UPS Maintenance / Service Engineer
  • Strong fault-finding capability on electrical power systems
  • Experience working on a range of UPS manufacturers and capacities
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel around London
