Astute are partnered with a long established, reputable company for service, maintenance and repair for waste handling and recycling equipment. Our client is looking for a Trainee Mechanically bias Engineer to join their team to cover their customers surrounding Crawley, Maidstone, Cambridge and beyond. The Service Engineer role comes with a salary of around 40,000 per annum plus company van, overtime opportunities and performance bonuses. Responsibilities and duties:
- Driving around 100 miles per day.
- Servicing compactors and balers, quotation work and attending breakdowns.
- Delivering a first-time fix when attending breakdowns.
- Occasional requirements to work away and out of hours.
- Strong teamwork skills on site/ remotely via phone calls or video calls.
- Working with scissor lifts, dock levellers and other waste handling equipment.
- Assisting with mechanical assembly, fault finding, and routine servicing tasks.
Professional qualifications:
- A strong interest in engineering, mechanics, or maintenance.
- Road experience is desirable.
- Open to a variety of skill sets - multi-skilled, competent engineers preferred.
